Hi Honeys
Back for day fourteen of Bailey Jean's Blogtember Challenge, a fun link-up which encourages bloggers to post every day for the month of September using topic prompts, which you can find here.
Today's prompt: Make a mood board! Are you brainstorming a room re-do, a capsule wardrobe or already planning for the holidays? Show us your ideas!
This is such a fun prompt because, as it happens, we have started planning our next (big) home project, although we won't be starting work on it till after New Year because there just isn't any spare money till then (at earliest.) My mood board for today's post then, shows the kind of products we've been making notes on, for our next project which will be a re-model of our teeny tiny bathroom :)
Presently our tiny bathroom has a really pretty "shell" design basin & matching toilet. You can see a similar set here. It's very pretty and when we first moved in I loved it. Unfortunately, the arthritis affecting my fingers & hands have made it become painful to clean. It's easier for me to use our steam cleaner with its mini brush attachment than to hurt my hands trying to clean all of the points and edges of the shell design.
The shell design may be pretty but it's impractical and also very dated. Hence the re-model.
Here it is then honeys, my bathroom re-model mood board...
In addition to replacing the basin and toilet with plain, smooth edged models, we're also planning to install a corner shower enclosure which will replace our present shower which has a shower curtain. It will be a lot (really a lot) of work but it will hopefully be worth while when it's all done.
Details of my little mood board then are as follows:
1. iBathUK Shower Enclosure - This is the size & shape of enclosure we're planning on adding to our bathroom, replacing the much larger, rectangular shaped tray we have now. I like the shape of this one, it'll free up a little space in an already small bathroom.
2. Eliana Maple Cloakroom Basin With Full Pedestal - I do like the soft, smooth lines of this basin. It will be much easier for me to clean without using my steam cleaner (although knowing me I still will :) It also has space to add two taps, where most I've looked at have a single outlet for a mixer tap, which means we can use our present white ceramic & chrome taps which are just beautiful and since we paid almost £52 for them I'm not keen to just throw them away, that's just wasteful and we have to stick to a budget!
3. Six piece towel bale in duck egg - Can't re-do your bathroom and not buy some lovely, fluffy new towels and these are lovely :)
4. Eliana Maple toilet - Matching toilet to the sink above.
It will be interesting to look back at this post to see how the eventual re-model of our bathroom compares honeys :) What is the subject of your mood board today? I can't wait to see them.
Till next post honeys, smile lots and hug even more! Huggles always xx
Love your new shower! looks so spacious!
ReplyDeleteHi Erika, thank you honey x Now here's hoping we manage to get it all done in the new year :) I loved your mood board today it's fabulous! Those teas look awesome I hope someone will be able to arrange for them to be imported to the UK, I tweeted a link to their site this afternoon. I can't believe we're almost half way through blogtember already! It's passing so quickly! It's been such fun again this year :) Sending heaps of hugs Erika xxx
DeleteThis looks fabulous! I hope you get your bathroom soon into the new year, as being in pain from cleaning things is horrible. xxx
ReplyDeleteHi Leah, aw thank you honey! We've worked out that we can (just about) manage it (hopefully) if we replace items piece by piece either every month or every second month until its all done. Hubby can do the tiling himself which will help a little with the cost. I'll try to remember to take before and after pics :) Thank you for visiting honey, it means so much since I know how busy you are right now, huggles always xxx
