Hi Honeys,
Happy Halloween ππ Can you believe it's the last day of Blogtober already? This month, and in fact this whole year, has passed so fast!
Yesterday, when he got home from work, Hubby brought me a beautiful Harry Potter themed gift set (thank you sweetheart x) and, since it's Halloween, what better time to share a Dark Arts gift set...
There are a lot (really a lot) of photos in this post honeys so, why not go grab a cuppa (and maybe a cookie) I will too and will meet you back here in a few minutes?
Welcome back dear ones, do you have your cuppa? Cool, me too ☕ Let's take a look at the Harry Potter Dark Arts Collectables Tin Set then π
First, the tin that the set is packaged in is just gorgeous! It has a beautiful, green, marbled pattern and has the Deathly Hallows symbol printed on the lid. The Deathly Hallows symbol also has two circles surrounding the triangle of the symbol, with the three components that make up the DH symbol itself.
For any non Potter fans (can there be any? π Surely not!) The Deathly Hallows symbol is made up of the cloak of invisibility (the one Harry was given as a gift on his first Christmas at Hogwarts) the Elder wand and the resurrection stone. The triangle of the DH symbol represents the cloak, the circle represents the stone and the line through the centre is of course the elder wand.
If you'd like to understand why the three objects that make up the Deathly Hallows symbol are connected, why they make up the symbol and what the symbol itself means in the Potter world, you can read a wonderful description here honeys.
There is also an interview with JK Rowling herself here, describing how she created the symbol and where she found her inspiration.
Back to the Dark Arts Collectables Tin then honeys π The tin has a "wrap around" cardboard sleeve showing the contents of the set...
Let's open the tin then honeys...
Inside the large tin, and on a side note, I was surprised by how large the tin actually is. I think I'll use it to store all of my smaller Potter collectables, the smaller notebooks, pencils, key rings etc.
Well, inside are three packages wrapped in black tissue paper with tiny silver Deathly Hallows symbols printed all over it....
Inside the first of the three packages, the round shaped package at the top, right hand side of the photo above, is a cauldron shaped bath fizzer...
The bath fizzer has the most amazing scent! It's really lovely honeys.
The second of the three packages is long and round...
Once opened this package contains two Dark Arts nail polishes and a Dark Arts Lipstick, all with the Deathly Hallows symbol on their containers.
The last of the three packages in the tin is also the largest...
This last package, once opened contains several larger items, and completes the set...
First there is a Bellatrix Lestrange eye mask (designed to look like her death eater mask) to wear while sleeping, dreaming up diabolical schemes, whatever it is that death eaters do while they nap π
This mask is lovely and soft actually honeys. It has an elastic strap to hold it in place, far better than those masks that have to be tied on and then get all ratted up in your hair. That stuff is not restful at all π
Bellatrix's eye mask is joined by an eye shadow cosmetic brush in the design of Lord Voldemort's wand...
This wand/brush is I think ,y favourite item in the set honeys. It's just beautiful! I half expected it to be plastic but it isn't, it's a very heavy metal handle/wand, while the bristles of the brush itself are so lovely and soft.
I'm wondering if this brush is part of a set that can be purchased separately, or maybe it's an exclusive to this collectable tin set? I'll have to try to find out honeys because if it is part of a set, and the others are of this quality, I'd love to buy a set π
Back to the set again, next, from the larger final package in the tin, are two sheet masks, in the designs of Barty Crouch Jr & .Lucius Malfoy's death eater masks...
It says on the back of the packaging of the both sheet masks that they are moisturising masks. I actually haven't tried a sheet mask yet, although I have two Soap & Glory masks and a Simple one in the bathroom. I've heard good things about them, I'll have to get around to trying one to see if it helps my far-too-dry skin.
Next is our almost-last-item in this set honeys, it's a sheet of nail stickers...
As you can see, there are twenty stickers each of Harry's glasses and the Deathly Hallows symbol and also ten stickers with Harry's lightning bolt scar.
Last, but absolutely not least, is a beautiful cosmetic bag with the Deathly Hallows symbol on the front, as well as on the heavy, metal, tag on the zip...
Like the rest of the set, this cosmetic bag is very good quality honeys. It's approximately the size of an A5 notebook? As you can see, it's in a lovely sort of plum shade and has the aforementioned large deathly hallows symbol printed in black on the front.
The deathly hallows symbol is also printed on the lining of the cosmetic bag...
The cosmetic bag feels "padded" and the lining is a sort of nylon or polyester material I think. The zip is metal, just like the round, heavy tag used to open and close the bag.
That's it honeys, those are the contents of the Harry Potter Dark Arts Collectables Tin set...
Harry Potter Dark Arts Collectables Tin
One beautiful large decorative tin (which I'm liking more each time I look at it honeys)
One cauldron shaped bath fizzer (240g)
One Dark Arts nail polish in green shimmer (8ml)
One Dark Arts nail polish in black shimmer (8ml)
One Dark Arts colour illusion lipstick in red (3g)
One Bellatrix Lestrange eye mask
One Lord Valdemort wand shaped eye shadow cosmetic brush
One Barty Crouch Jr sheet mask (20g)
One Lucius Malfoy sheet mask (20g)
One sheet of Dark Arts nail stickers
One Dark Arts cosmetic purse
The set has ten items, plus the beautiful tin, and cost £20 from Boots. It says on the website that it's on offer but I don't know how long for honeys, I'm sorry. Again, I haven't been paid to promote this set, Hubby bought it for me as a gift, my little Slytherin heart just thought it was awesome and wanted to share in case any fellow Potter fans didn't know about it.π
Over to you honeys, are you fellow Potter fans? I hope you're having the best time this Halloween π As I've been writing this I've been dashing back and forth to the front door, lots of trick or treaters this year and lots of the neighbours have been decorating their gardens this year too π I so love Halloween honeys π
Thank you so much for keeping me company dear ones, have a great Halloween and a wonderful weekend, till next time, smile lots and hug even more, hugs always x
