Hi Honeys
Back again with the second post in the monthly Picture Perfect Project. If you missed it you can see the January post here with Winter snow :)
The Picture Perfect Project encourages Bloggers to take more photos to improve their photography skills (and so improve their blogs) and have a whole lot of fun while doing it :) There is a link up every second Thursday each month throughout the year.
For this months challenge I wanted to try to take some photos outdoors since most of my blog images are taken in doors in our kitchen where the best lighting is available thanks to the large windows. I did really enjoy photographing our garden last year though, especially the roses which were just breathtaking.
On a visit to our Doctor's surgery for a blood pressure check up earlier this week I noticed the last of the beautiful Winter holly bushes and wanted to capture them before they're cut back to make room for Spring growth. When I got home I looked at the images and was again reminded that true beauty is all around us and we all walk past it every day.
Here are the holly bushes outside the Doctor's surgery....
Most of the green leaves are gone now of course, it's February and we're (too slowly) moving towards Spring, but oh my, look at those pretty berries.
Even with so much of the greenery almost gone these shrubs are still an important food source for smaller birds.
Of course not all of the gorgeous holly leaves are gone and if you look hard enough it's still possible to see a few here and there...
These images were snapped with my dear little Nikon Coolpix S2700 because it's teeny tiny and small enough to fit into my handbag :)
Photographs really are a wonderful way to capture precious moments before they slip away. Perfect little bubbles of time to re-visit again and again through the years. I can't wait to see what moments everyone else has been capturing for this months challenge.

ReplyDeleteThanks for joining the linkup!
Thank you Desiree, and thank you so much for visiting too. This is such a fun challenge :) Have a fabulous weekend, sending heaps of hugs xx
DeleteOur neighbor has a holly bush and boy do the birds make a racket in it! Thanks for linking up with us!
ReplyDeleteHi Whitney, I always wonder how those tiny birds are able to eat the berries with all of those thorns, but I'm so grateful they have a food source during the long Winter. We have the most enormous blueberry shrub in our back garden that we planted for the birds so many years ago and I love to stand at the kitchen window and watch them :) This is such a fun challenge and I'm so looking forward to taking lots more photos all year, maybe catching the change of the seasons in our garden. Have a wonderful weekend and thank you so much for visiting, huggles xx
