Hi Honeys
How are you today? All well I hope? It's starting to get chilly and our garden is full of leaves (again! after all that work Hubby put into clearing it) I thought I'd share a few smiles with the latest additions to my Potter collection, including the latest item, a gift from my dear Hubby and so precious it may be kept in its box to avoid any damage caused by the single most clumsy person ever... yep, you guessed it, me π
Is anyone else a Professor Trelawney fan? Poor dear Sybill Trelawney, bless her, stuck all the way up at the very top, on the seventh floor of the North Tower of Hogwarts. It would seem that even (certain) witches and wizards think very little of the subject of Divination, of seeing into the future, for her classroom to be cast so far away from the inhabitants of the most famous school of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
I adore dear Professor Trelawney. She has a gentleness of spirit I think, in spite of her often doom laden pronouncements. You can imagine how thrilled I was then for Hubby to surprise me with an actual, official Potter collectable that celebrates the character of dear Sybill... but I'm getting ahead of myself dear ones π
Why not grab a cuppa and maybe a cookie (or a few... this will be a long post) and meet me back here in a few minutes for lots of Potter related smiles...
Hello again honeys, got something to drink and to nibble on? Cool, let's get started then shall we?
A Halloween DIY
How adorable are these tiny little Hedwig lights? I'm going to use them for a little crafting project for work this weekend, where we'll all be dressed up as we all do every year on the weekend before Halloween. Not to worry honeys, I'll write a post with lots of photos so you can see what I've done with these sweet little lights. It still makes me cry that JK Rowling killed Harry's dear, loyal owl friend, although she explains why on Pottermore... I'm still not happy though.... Dear wee Hedwig...
Notebooks...
Who doesn't love notebooks honeys? I really do π If Hubby loses me in a shop he can be sure to find me at the stationery department ooo-ing and aahhh-ing over their notebooks π You can imagine how excited I was then to find these Potter themed beauties...
I just squealed again when I saw the photo of this notebook dear ones! It's so pretty! The cover has a sort of leather-y kind of feel to it (although it's not leather) and is embossed with the Hogwarts crest. When you open the notebook, the inner cover looks like this...
Lots of beautiful lavender coloured stars on a purple background. When we open the next page, taking us to the notebook proper, the pages look like this...
Lots of lovely lined pages with a shadow-y image of Hogwarts printed on each page. At the side of the notebook, as you can see from the image above, is an elastic loop. This loop is home to a beautiful pen in the shape of a wand. The wand has the Harry Potter logo printed on it in gold. I found this notebook in our local B&M stores shop.
As with the previous notebook, I found this next notebook in B&M too. I do like the cover with it's Hogwarts crest against the four House colours as background...
It has an elastic band to keep it closed when not in use and the inner cover and pages look like this...
The inner, stiff card sleeve is in sepia shades but is again made up of four parts, each with symbols of the four Houses. The lined inner pages have the Hogwarts crest printed in the bottom corner.
This takes us to the last set (for now) but certainly the most adorable little set of notebooks...
I actually squealed in the shop when I saw this little package of notebooks honeys and I hadn't even opened the packet yet, just the sight of that adorable little Professor Dumbledore was enough for it to find its way into our basket π
The reverse of the package shows the other little notebooks in the set and looks like this...
The others, keeping Professor Dumbledore company in the set, as you can see from the image above are Harry and Hermione and the notebooks are A6, the perfect size to slip into a handbag or book-bag to make notes on the move.
Here they are then, all three in the set, side by side...
Too adorable! The little Dumbledore notebook is currently living in my handbag and, other than being very useful to jot down reminders and shopping lists, keeps making me smile π
Let's take a peep inside the notebooks shall we honeys?
Each notebook has a little drawing of the character on the cover so inside the Hermione notebook is...
Yep, a tiny Hermione wearing her House scarf and holding her wand. Is it just me or is anyone else thinking it would be such fun to colour these tiny drawings? Colouring is a part of my self care routine and is so calming.
Inside the Harry notebook is an equally adorable little drawing of Harry....
And inside the Professor Dumbledore notebook is....
Yes, you guessed honeys, it's Professor Dumbledore π
I'm hoping this little set of notebooks might be the first of more. Can I hope for tiny, equally adorable handbag sized notebooks of Professors Snape and McGonagall and even a little Hedwig notebook?
Looking at the back cover of all three notebooks, it does look as if there might be a chance...
These beautiful little notebooks can be found in Primark honeys, I found this set over by the checkouts with other tiny items like hairbrushes, make up sponges etc so if you can't find them in your branch have a look there. If anyone is listening in Primark, can we have more characters in these tiny notebook sets please π
Homeware
Only two items in the section honeys but they're both just awesome so they fully, in my humble opinion anyways, deserve a section of their own π
The first item is a mug and again it's covered in a whole range of those little adorable caricature like Potter characters, like those used on the notebook set. This is the box the mug is packaged in...
As you can see there are lots of characters represented...
and look honeys! On the image above, on the bottom row of the far left hand side illustration of the mug (the front) it's a tiny Professor Snape with Professor McGonagall right next to him and even a tiny Dobby too!
I snapped a couple of images of the actual mug so you can see what it looks like too...
On this side (described as the back of the mug on the box) you can see Fred, George and Ginny Weasley and underneath them are Draco, Bellatrix and Voldermort himself (looking almost cuddly in his adorable-ness)
While on the other side of the mug we have Harry, Hermione and Ron, on the line under them are Professor Snape, Professor McGonagall and Sirius Black...
Between these two sides (as you can see if you refer back to the packaging images above) in the middle of the mug illustration are a much larger drawing of Hagrid, Professor Dumbledore, a teeny, tiny Dobby and even teenier and tinier Hedwig, and also Luna and Neville.
I'm so hoping that we see more products with these tiny characters on them, they're just adorable. Hubby found this mug for me in our local branch of Wilko and you can see it online here honeys.
Attention Professor Trelawney fans π
Here it is dear ones, the one item that made me so happy that whoever is controlling all of the Potter merchandising remembered our dear Professor Trelawney...
I first spotted this gorgeous cup and saucer set online, Hubby had a look in our local Primark but they didn't have it and he surprised me by bringing a set home with him from work. He'd managed to find a set in town during his lunch break (thank you sweetheart x)
Let's take a look at this lovely set shall we honeys?
On the front of the cup is an image of the huge dark dog, seen by Harry in his tea leaves in Professor Trelawney's divination class. Known as "the grim" it was a dark omen of approaching death according to dear Professor Trelawney.
The saucer has the words "accio tea" printed all around it while the other side of the cup has Professor Trelawney's exclamation toward Harry when she sees his tea leaves. "My dear, you have the grim"
I think this set has jumped to first place in my list of favourite pieces of Potter merchandise. It's so pretty and I just love it. Well done whoever thought of it and a million thank yous from Professor Trelawney fans everywhere x
Badges, Badges, Badges...
Where would fans of anything be it sports teams, movie franchises or TV shows be without our badges dear ones. They show our loyalty to our favourite teams or to our favourite characters.
Primark have been turning out such wonderful sets of badges and I thought I'd share some of the sets we've found so far (mostly Hubby since our local store doesn't seem to stock them, thank you again sweetheart x)
Button badges...
These button badges are a great set, with each of them bearing the crest of Hogwarts and it's five Houses. They'd look great on book or tote bags and at £2 for five of them aren't too expensive either.
Metal badge sets
These metal badge sets are just fabulous I think honeys. Below are two sets, one of which, the one on the left hand side of the image, was the first set I had. This first set is Slytherin themed as you can see and has the folowing pins on it:
1. a flag or banner/pennant shaped pin in green and silver with the word Slytherin on it.
2. a silver snake pin
3. a Deathly Hallows triangular pin
4. a Harry Potter logo pin
5. a silver pin of the word Slytherin
6. a silver Dobby pin
The second set, shown on the right hand side of the photograph, is a Quidditch themed set and has the following pins:
1. A green and silver "keeper" pin
2. a quaffle ball pin
3. a broomstick pin
4. a pair of beaters bats pin
5. a golden coloured Hogwarts Quidditch pin
6. a green and silver Slytherin shield pin
Living quite a distance from the City as we do I suppose it's to be expected that we don't have the same access to the full range of products available in larger towns/cities so I'm usually just grateful to find anything locally and I'm blessed that Hubby will look for anything I've seen online and fallen in love with, like the cup & saucer set.
These next pins, like the others, appear to have been released in sets of four, one set for each of the four Hogwarts Houses. In our local Primark we managed to find the Gryffindor and Slytherin sets, which you can see below...
The Gryfindor set has the following pins:
1. a potion bottle in red
2. a "Monster Book of Monsters" book pin
3. a gold coloured envelope (Harry's letter from Hogwarts)
4. a gold coloured pin saying "Alohomora"
5. a Hogwarts uniform pin in the Gryffindor colours
6. a gold coloured lion pin with the word Gryffindor underneath
The Slytherin set, on the right hand side of the photograph has the following pins:
1. a potion bottle in green
2. a cauldron pin
3. a silver envelope pin (Harry's letter from Hogwarts)
4. a silver pin with the word "stupefy"
5. a Hogwarts uniform pin in the Slytherin colours
6. a silver coloured snake pin with the word Slytherin underneath
If I'd seen the other sets I would have bought them honeys because at £3 per set they're affordable and I do love those little uniform pins π You might remember having seen the keyring version of the uniform pins in a previous post, if you missed it you can see the other post here but here is a photo...
During this post I've tried to give you links (where links are available honeys) and I've managed to find links to the uniform pin sets which you can see here:
The Griffyndor set is online here and the Slytherin set is online here while you can see the Ravenclaw set online here and the Hufflepuff set online here
Everything else...
We're almost at the end dear ones, this is the last section and covers everything left over not included in the other sections above π Let's start with this large tote bag...
I spotted this bag in our local Primark branch and the instant I saw it I knew what I wanted it for. Do you remember those beautiful Hogwarts themed school satchels honeys?
I've been storing them inside pillowcases to keep them safe from dust and to protect them and I thought this large tote might be a great place to keep them (still wrapped in their protective pillowcases) and store them safely. At £2 it's a bargain too as well as being super useful.
To the sale bins...
Potter items are starting to appear in sale bins honeys so it's well worth checking the sale sections when shopping. On our recent shopping trip I found these little toe warming items in the sale bin at Primark...
Hogwarts Express Footlets
These lovely soft little footlets (or slippers) were in the assorted (lots of different sale items with only these footlets and some socks being Potter themed) sale bin...
As you can see they were half price but I'd have happily paid full price for them because they're so warm and comfy, especially since it's starting to get colder now.
The silvery embroidery on the toes has the number of the famous platform the Hogwarts Express leaves from while, in the same silver embroidery, the side has Hogwarts Express embroidered with a little tab at the heel bearing the Harry Potter logo...
Shoe liners
Also in the sale bin were these sets of three pairs of shoe liners (or short socks reaching the ankle)
As you can see there are three different designs in each pack, with two pairs having gold, glittery edges, toes and heels and the last pair being plain white in these areas...
These really are so soft and comfortable to wear honeys and at £1 for three pairs they were a real bargain. I've been wearing them walking about the house and just love them.
Last item dear ones. Again from the same sale bin, the softest, fluffiest pair of Dobby themed slipper socks...
As you can see, they have silvery, glittery toes, heels and edges, as well as sparkly, silver embroidered stars all surrounding the words "Dobby is free."
So, that's it honeys. This has been such a long post! For anyone who stayed till the end, thank you so much for keeping me company and I hope you've enjoyed seeing these Potter themed finds and maybe discovered something you might have missed or not seen yet.
Are you a Potter fan too? Are you loving the Potter merchandise becoming available from most of the high street shops? What's been your favourite item you've found so far? Which House have you been sorted into? Have you been sorted yet into a House at Pottermore? If not you can find be sorted here.
I was sorted into Gryffindor. Yes, yes, I'm all about all things Slytherin, I know π Well honeys, I owe my love of the Potter world to the wonderful, beautiful soul who was Alan Rickman. Forever loved and forever missed π I went to see the first movie simply because he was in it so, with apologies to JK Rowling, I'll always be Syltherin π
Till next time dear ones, stay warm, smile lots and hug even more, huggles always xx
