Disclaimer: I haven't been paid to promote any products, I just wanted to share some really beautiful things being created by a dear friend. I loved seeing them and thought you might too x Please note: these images remain the property of It's On The Cards and are used here with kind permission, thank you Cheryl xx
Hello Honeys
How are you today? It's been such a busy week here, I did some shopping on Tuesday (a rare thing for me since other than going to work and trips to the Doctor's surgery or to the arthritis clinic at the hospital I'm rarely out at all) and I spent most of yesterday afternoon making up goodie bags for visits by tiny trick or treaters ๐ป
Since another (very) busy weekend lies ahead of me, and since I know that in order to have a chance of getting through my increasingly busy shifts, I have to rest today and re-charge my batteries. I thought I'd do that by enjoying a little calm time spent enjoying some beautiful images of some stunning terrariums created by a dear friend.
Terrariums are everywhere right now, in all different sizes. From a tiny glass dish being home to a single small succulent, to a much larger container housing an assortment of little cacti and other tiny succulents.
No matter how many terrariums you've seen though honeys, you won't have seen any as awesome as the ones you'll see in this post, all lovingly created by a dear friend Cheryl...
Isn't this just beautiful honeys? There's something very calming about these beautiful mini gardens. They'd be perfect I think as part of a small meditation space, a reading nook or just to sit on a window ledge to bring a little of the outside in ๐
There are quite a few (really beautiful) images in this post dear ones, so it might be a good idea to fetch a cuppa and maybe a cookie? Meet you back here in a few minutes...
Welcome back honeys ๐ You might remember my mentioning Cheryl on this blog before? She creates the most amazing things that have to be seen to be believed, including this little guy here....
Oh Loki! That's so rude! Behave yourself! ๐ Isn't he fabulous honeys? He lives on a picture ledge in the bedroom upstairs and never fails to make me smile ๐
You can read the post I wrote about him here if you haven't seen it and I'll add a link to Cheryl's Facebook page, It's On The Cards, at the end of this post so you can see some of the other fabulous things she's been making.
For today though, back to Cheryl's beautiful terrariums...
A terrarium can be thought of as a miniature indoor garden or a tiny greenhouse, since it acts as a perfect growing environment for the plants placed inside...
They're perfect for anyone who loves plants but doesn't have time to garden since they are very low maintenance...
The plants won't ever outgrow their little environments and won't ever need to be re-potted and since tiny succulents, such as cactus, are very hardy plants, they don't need to be watered as frequently as typical indoor potted plants...
To avoid over watering, rather than pouring water into your terrarium, you can water your succulents using a spray bottle to spray a fine mist over the plants...
Remember to spray around the base of the plants as well as their surface to make sure they're getting enough moisture...
The beautiful terrariums Cheryl makes are created using the most gorgeous glass bottles, all cut by hand and incorporating the prettiest little succulents...
Each terrarium, because they're made by hand, is a one of a kind creation and since they're created by recycling stunning glass bottles they're helping save the environment too.
So much thought has gone into these exquisite, self-contained mini gardens and they're just perfect to add a little nature to even the busiest homes.
Many of the terrariums I've seen in stores have artificial plants in them but Cheryl's terrariums are more than ornamental, they're stunningly beautiful, perfect living environments for the tiny, adorable, and very much alive succulents inside each one...
Who knew anything so fabulous could also help save the planet too. Recycling is so important with the challenges facing the world by pollution and so many other factors and I think Cheryl's terrariums have to be one of the most fantastic recycling projects since it's not only giving another life to these gorgeous bottles it's also bringing nature indoors too.
Before I go get started on my laundry honeys, and make another cuppa ๐ I have to show you something else Cheryl's been doing with the breathtaking bottles she spends such a long time searching for. May I introduce you to one of Cheryl's fantastic light bottles...
Isn't it perfect? Cheryl is such a talented lady, I'm always bowled over by the incredible things she creates. If you'd like to visit and see some of her other awesome terrariums, light bottles or any of the other beautiful treasures she creates you can find her Facebook page, It's On The Cards, here.
Cheryl will happily create personalised or bespoke items and she is genuinely the loveliest, sweetest person, so if you visit her page please say hello while you're there.
Well honeys, I'm off to start a load of laundry, make another cuppa and maybe plan what's for dinner. Till next time dear ones, smile lots, hug even more and it's getting properly cold now so add another layer to fight off the chills, see you again soon, huggles xx
Edit: If you'd like to see some more of Cheryl's gorgeous creations you can see a few of her Harry Potter themed light bottles here honeys, enjoy x
