Christmas Questionaire Tag :)

Hi Honeys
Today's post has been such fun to write! I've been tagged in a fabulous Christmas questionaire by lovely Heidi of Heidnspeak  Thank you so much for thinking of me Heidi xxx
Christmas Questionaire
Without further ado then honeys off we go.....

What is your favourite Christmas tradition?
My dear BiL comes to visit. We chat on line every weekend but he lives so far away that we only see him at the holidays.  He's Hubby's brother but I stole him years ago, I told Hubby he didn't appreciate him so now he's my wee brother :) On Christmas Day Hubby, our furbaby Jade and I settle on the sofa watch DVDs.

Where do you spend Christmas?
The same place I spend the other 364 days of the year. Right here, at home.  A friend at work once called me a "hoose moose" (house mouse) :) That is about the cutest thing I've ever been called, I so love it and I so am honeys :) Our home is my ultimate happy place and I'm fine with that :)

What is your favourite Christmas song?
There are some wonderful Christmas songs but my absolute favourites would include:
"Mary's Boy Child" by Boney M
The Pogues featuring the fabulous (and taken far, far too soon) Kirsty MacCall - "Fairytale of New York"

and of course.... Bing Crosby and David Bowie "Little Drummer Boy & Peace on Earth"

Do you decorate before or after Thanksgiving?
First off, I love the idea of Thanksgiving.  How wonderful to have a holiday dedicated to recognizing the blessings we're lucky enough to have in our lives and taking a day to be grateful for them. On to decorating, simple answer to that is that we don't. Decorate I mean.  We haven't had a tree or decorating up for so many years.  I've lost too many people I love and Christmas is just a painful reminder of that. That being said, a friend at work last year bought me the sweetest miniature Christmas tree because she just couldn't understand our not decorating (Thanks you Sara sweetheart xx)  We do have a tree, and boxes of decorations up in the loft, but we just don't decorate.  Maybe someday...

Tinsel or garland?
As I said we don't decorate but if I had to choose it would be shiny sparkly tinsel I think :)

Who are you most excited to see this this Christmas season?
My dear BiL who has been here this week and just left last night to go home again. We're missing him already.

Do you own an ugly Christmas jumper?
I do have a Christmas sweater. It was a gift from a College friend and I adore it :) It has an image of a smiling reindeer on it and says "Naughty! .... but cute enough to get away with it!" on the front.  My friend said she thought of me when she saw it because I was the least naughty person she'd ever known! :) It's not ugly though, it leans more towards cute :)

What is one Christmas food you just can't live without?
I know they're the marmite of vegetables, good old brussel sprouts. Love them, love them, love them :)  Everyone claims to hate them, but they're on every UK table at Christmas as well as most Sunday lunch tables throughout the year.  As I said they are a marmite vegetable, some people (like Hubby and I) love them other people won't go near them. On the subject of sprouts.... well... just watch this honeys :)

Peppermint or gingerbread?
Both :) Hubby and I both adore gingerbread but we really, really love these gingerbread biscuits from Ikea. It's worth a visit to buy those alone :) At this time of year though, when candy canes are everywhere, why not make a lovely creamy mug of hot chocolate, with milk though.  None of these instant & from a sachet types. Top with whipped cream (yum!) add choccy sprinkles on top of the cream and finish by adding a candy cane! There are no words!  Stir occasionally with the candy cane and the gorgeous flavour of peppermint with drift through the hot chocolate :) As I said, there are just no words for how yummy it is :) Not something you could drink very often but as a (very) occasional treat ... yum!

Have you ever tried a fruit cake?
I'm Scottish :) Every home in Scotland has fruit cake for Christmas and we certainly have fruit cake on the table at Hogmanay (new year)

What is one thing you've asked for this Christmas?
Not a thing.  I never do. I'm so not a present person. Hubby tries to surprise me every year even though I'm not fond of surprises either, bless him :)

I have been having fun collecting Hubby's gifts though (mostly books this year) and have bought a beautiful new red fleece lined jacket for our furbaby Jade as well as lots of treats for her stocking. Yes, our furbaby does have a stocking, where else would I put her yummy treats from Santa :)

If you could be any Christmas movie character, who would you be?
Lucy (played by Sandra Bullock) in "While you were sleeping" (1995) I soooo love this movie :) In case you haven't seen it honeys, Lucy saves the life of a stranger who is almost killed by an oncoming train on Christmas day.  The accident places him into a coma and the man's family mistakenly believe Lucy is his fiancee.  The rest of the film takes place while the man Lucy saved is still in his coma, in that time Lucy meets and falls in love with his brother. If you haven't seen it yet honeys you can watch the trailer here. Just watching the trailer makes me want to go watch it again :)

That's it honeys, we've reached the end of Heidi's wonderful questionaire.  Thank you so, so much for including me Heidi this was such fun! Huggles honey xxx

    1. Hi Honey x I really do think that brussels sprouts are the marmite of the vegetable world, people have such a strong reaction to them! We have them most Sundays with Sunday lunch and definitely at Christmas. Oddly enough Hubby never liked them, even as a child, but these past few years he's taken to eating them and now says he loves them! Bless him, maybe he eats them to make me happy :) huggles always honey xxx
