Catching Up And Finding Smiles In (Another) new Diary...

Disclaimer:  I haven't been paid to promote any products, just wanted to share a Potter smile and catch up a little x

Hi Honeys,

Happy New Year πŸ’–  I know, today's the first of February, I'm a little late. Where have you been Rosie?  I'm sorry I've been missing dear ones.  A lot's been happening and, even though I knew it was going to happen, well, I'm finding it really difficult to deal with is all.  I've lost my job honeys and it really hurts because I love my job, I really do but the arthritis in my spine is now so painful that I can't stand for too long and this has affected my mobility terribly.  As the old saying goes, I'm "neither use nor ornament" 😩

I have to believe that everything happens for a reason.  I don't think 2020 will be a year that many of us will remember too fondly, it's been a very stressful year living through a world-wide pandemic after all, but we have to find a way to be positive somehow.  I'm praying it will be a better year for all of us dear ones.

I'd mentioned in my last blog post that my own little act of positivity was to buy a diary for the year ahead. I've already started to fill it's pages with projects I hope to complete this year, with hopes and even some little dreams I've had for some time now.

Well, having decided not to allow negativity to get the upper hand honeys, I've now found myself with two diaries instead of one 😊

What's inside the Harry Potter Collectors Edition Box Set

For a second year I've been lucky enough to find a Harry Potter Collectors Edition Gift Set under the (imaginary) Christmas tree πŸ’– I say imaginary because we didn't actually have a tree up (or decorations at all actually.)  Anyway, I thought I'd share what was in the brightly coloured Potter box... other than another diary that is 😊

Why not go grab a cuppa dear ones and maybe a cookie, and I'll meet you back here in a few minutes?  See you after the page break...

Welcome back honeys πŸ’– Do you have your cuppa?  Me too ☕🍩  Why not put your feet up and get comfy? I'm sitting on the sofa next to a sleeping furbaby, our baby Jade is snuggled under her blanket, napping happily bless her πŸ’— It's still so cold here and, like her Mum, our baby is not a fan of winter.

On to the Potter diary set then dear ones.  I don't know how many years these sets have been produced so far, but I do know this is the second year I've been lucky enough to have one.  Each set has been the same (contents wise) but in a different design.  Last years set had a gold foil design, Dobby themed diary...

Last years, 2020, Harry Potter Collectors Edition Gift Set - had a calendar, diary and pen all housed in a beautiful reusable gift box

This years box, in a move away from last years more sombre tone, is in fun, vibrant, primary colours, as you can see honeys...

It's a very sturdy, heavyweight cardboard box.  The paper band around the box reveals the sets contents...

The box itself is just lovely with each brightly coloured square making up the crest of Hogwarts on the front in one of the Houses colours and with a shadow image of each Houses representative animal...

What's inside the Harry Potter Collectors Edition Gift Set: As lovely as the contents of this set are, they are easily matched by the beautiful storage box they are packaged in.

Around the outer four edges of the box are the names of the Houses too, in the appropriate colours and, again, with a depiction of their symbolic animal being shown.

Inside the box, we find the 2021 calendar...

The calendar too is in vivid, primary colours with each page showing a different character.  I was so pleased to find the beautiful images of Professor Snape to start the year in January and as you can se, the theme of primary colours continues through the year...

Under the calendar, inside the box, are the A5 hardback 2021 diary and a pen...

The pen is the same as the one found in last years set but the diary is a different design...

The first two pages of each month throughout the diary are devoted to an image from the Potter movies...

The diary is really lovely this year honeys, and I hope to actually use it too.  Last years diary, featuring Dobby on the cover, is still in its box.  2020 really had nothing for me to want to keep a record of but I'm determined this year will be different.  It may be starting on a low ebb but it has to get better.

There are so many things I want to do honeys.  There are now 46 days till spring arrives 🌼 All of the plans I had for our much loved garden for last year, not one of them were actually achieved.  Not a one.  This year, I'd really like to tick all of those plans off my list ✔

First of course would be adding more lavender for our little buzzy bee guests 🐝 They adore the lavender and don't even seem to mind my snapping away with my camera πŸ’–

This year's plans for the garden include adding more lavender for our bee guests.

If I stay very still, they'll even land on me sometimes😍  What could possibly make a day any brighter honeys, than a little bee mistaking you for a flower πŸ’—  A dear friend got me a beautiful little bee hotel (and the sweetest bird table) at Christmas (thank you Sarah, hugs honey x) and I can't wait to see them in place when we start planning out the garden when the weather changes πŸ’–

Who knows, we might even be able to have our long planned little seating area in the back garden too.  I know where I'd like it to be, and also have an image in my mind of how I'd like it to look.  It will be based around a beautiful bench, a gift from Hubby, which has roses in its design.

Our seating area in the back garden will be designed around a beautiful garden bench, a gift from Hubby.

I'm hoping to place large planters either side of the bench, one is home to our much loved peonies and the other will be full of lavender. Maybe our little bee friends will sit with us for a while 🐝  It would be lovely to be able to sit outside with a book, and of course with our furbaby Jade (I'd take her bed outside for her of course, so she could be comfy too) and just be still.  I need some calm right now honeys.

This year, with Hubby's help, I'm also hoping to downsize our home too.  We've been collectors for too long and have run out of space to collect things in 😊 Time to work on a serious declutter and then to set about properly organising each room to make it easier to tidy and make our home easier to manage.

What are your plans for the year ahead honeys?  We're almost out of winter and into spring again, everything feels better in spring.  Till next time, stay warm and safe dear ones, hugs always x

Huggles always, Rosie xx
