10 Practical, Everyday Uses For Microfibre Squares 😊

How are you today?  Our furbaby Jade and I have had the loveliest, quietist day.  No laundry to do because it's all up to date and done. Jade has mostly napped, bless her, while I've been editing photos and making notes for upcoming blog posts and watched lots of home organisation videos on YouTube.  It has been a lovely day.😊

We've reached day twelve of Blogtober already (how did that happen so fast?) and today I thought I'd share some uses for a little thing that has replaced so many paper products in our home and just made life so much easier.  

I mean, of course, those I-couldn't-do-without-them, pretty-as-well-as-practical, take-that-paper-products, too-useful-for-words microfibre cloths.😀  

You might have gathered by that introduction that I'm quite fond of my collection of what are, after all, essentially dusters.  You'd be right too.😄 I mean, they are of course fabulous when used as dusters but they have so, so many other uses too!  Let's have a look at a few, shall we?.

10 practical, everyday uses for microfibre cloths...

1. Removing make up.  The cloths are so soft and absorbent, it makes them perfect for gently washing away impurities from the delicate skin on our faces.  Then, instead of throwing away cotton swabs or balls into the bin/trash, you pop the clothes into the laundry and they can be used over and over again.    

2. As napkins for day to day use.  By all means honeys, keep your good napkins for special dinners, like Christmas, family get-togethers etc but for everyday meals, these little super cloths are perfect and they make them in such bright colours with beautiful patterns now too that they make your dining table look pretty.  

3. For packed lunches, why not pop a cloth into your lunch bag and make your desk lunch feel more like a picnic and a little special.   

4. Keeping your stainless steel appliances beautifully shiny.  These little cloths will buff away all signs of fingerprints and other daily marks that appear on your lovely fridge, freezer and dishwasher (and kettles.) Just keep a cloth to hand for quick polishes as needed.  

5. Keep one or two in the car for dashboard cleanups and window smudges.😊

6. Cleaning your TVs, phones and tablets. No need for cleaners that might harm the surfaces of your devices honeys, these extra soft little cloths will clean away smudges and fingermarks. There are specially made electronics cleaning fluids but I haven't ever used those, instead I barely dampen a microfibre cloth and very gently wipe away at stubborn screen marks. Never use a wet cloth on electronic devices honeys.

7. Cleaning eye glasses.  I always try to keep one of these little cloths to hand, maybe by the sofa or even in the pocket of my pinny (apron) to clean my glasses when needed.  It's amazing how grubby glasses get when you're pottering about doing housework, cooking or just going through the day.  These soft, non-scratchy cloths are perfect to gently clean them and let me see the world again.😊

8. Cleaning windows and mirrors.  Not only will they absorb moisture after showering, but they won't leave streaks.  To clean your glass or mirrors, use a window or glass spray (and a cloth) to clean any smudges, steaks or any other marks, then a final wipe over with a clean microfibre and your windows and mirrors will shine. 

9. Cleaning drips and spills from kitchen counters.  Forget those rolls of paper towels honeys.  One of these little clothes will easily wipe up any drips or spills and they go into the wash instead of the bin.  

10. To clean "water marks" from your taps.  Use a small brush to clean soap residue etc from the surface and edges of the taps (I keep a small toothbrush in my cleaning caddy for this) then use warm soapy water and a clean microfibre cloth to wash them thoroughly.  Use another, dry microfibre cloth to dry the taps and buff them shiny. 

There are no words for how useful I've found these little cloths around our home, and they're not just useful, they really are practical too.  Just using a microfibre cloth and some warm, soapy water, it's easy to clean so many things that without realising it, you're saving money too by not having to buy so many cleaning products or paper products like kitchen towels.
