Fairies, Fairies, Everywhere...

Disclaimer:  I haven't been paid to endorse or promote any products, just sharing my latest smiles in the hope they'll make you smile too x

Hi Honeys,
I'm writing this as storm Barbara arrives on the West coast of Scotland.  It's getting wild out there. The rain is battering against the windows driven by the winds which seem to be picking up by the hour.

I need to take my mind off the weather, especially since I have a busy (and late finishing) shift ahead of me tonight and will need to wrap up against the elements to make my way to work soon.  What better way to distract myself than by sharing pretty fairies...

Fairies Fairies Everywhere

I've adored the magical, mystical world of fairies for as long as I can remember. As a child I truly wanted to believe every garden was home to fairy folk who spent their days frolicking and dancing on tiny shimmering wings and cared for the flowers and any animals they met too of course.

As an adult I still want to believe that they co-exist somehow with us clumsy humans on this tiny planet, making good our careless foot steps in their garden homes.  We have tiny fairies (and angels) sprinkled throughout our home in pewter, crystal and glass, peeping out from shelves and bookcases.

I've been known to write (terrible) poetry in their honour and I'm still planning a fairy garden outside, hopefully we'll start work on it in the Spring when the weather gets better but for now we have the sweetest solar powered little log fairy home living on a shelf in our entryway/mudroom, which I'm hoping with be at it's heart....

Solar Powered Fairy Home

It looks adorable at night when the windows glow with a soft, warm light and I think it will look fabulous as part of our fairy garden.  I'll take photos to share honeys, promise x

I've just added to my fairy collection and one of the items I've wanted for such a long time and silly though it seems I can't wait to add it to our home and I know exactly where it will be placed too 😊

Let's take a look at the latest fairy themed additions to our home decor shall we?
I just actually made a small squeal noise again when I saw this photograph...

Fairy Door with fairy dust & key

Yep, I finally have a fairy door honeys!  Isn't it adorable?  It has a tiny faux pearl as a door handle and comes packaged with a tiny glass jar of fairy dust/white sparkly glitter.  It also has, as you can see in the photo above, another little glass jar which contains a teeny, tiny gold coloured key!

The reverse of the packaging is just as sweet and includes a little poem...

Fairy Door Packaging Reverse

I intend painting the pale wooden frame around the door, or rather asking Hubby to do it for me since my don't-work-terribly-well-even-on-a-good-day lungs mean I'm not great near gloss/oil based paint and I'd like it to blend into the background where it's going to live.  As if it's always been there πŸ˜‰

I'm going to place it at the very bottom of our staircase, right by the bottom step, and I'm thinking about making a little door mat to place outside too 😊  This perfect tiny fairy door was spotted by Hubby in Home Bargains during a recent shopping trip and only cost £1!  Where else can a £1 give such joy πŸ˜„  Again, once it's in place I'll share a photo honeys x

My other fairy surprise was found in the sale in Asda. Yep, the sales have started already! Can anyone else remember when sales used to start on January 1st?

If you've read this blog before you'll know that I adore bedding.  Love it.  I adore dressing our bed and making it look fabulous, or as fabulous as I can on a sales clerks salary 😊 Imagine my happiness then when I saw a duvet set with.... fairies!

Fairy Patterned Duvet Set
image scanned from packaging

I've scanned the image above from the packaging because I never put new bedding on our bed without washing it first and since this set was bought yesterday I haven't had the chance to do that yet.

The image doesn't do this set any justice at all honeys, it's adorable and is making me smile just looking at it 😊  This set is going to be a favourite during the summer months when the bed in our master bedroom is usually changed every second day.  I love doing laundry more than is at all reasonable honeys, can't help it.

On the unlikely occasions when we have an actual, real, lots of sunny days type summer I've been known to change our bedding every day 😊

The poem on one side of the duvet cover itself is so sweet. Can you read it in the above image?  It says...

As twilight sets across the land,
The stars begin to gently show.

The fluttering sound of tiny wings,
As precious fairies start their show.

You need to look so very hard,
To watch the fairies graceful dance.

Their delicate & perfect steps,
Leave me in a dreamlike trance...

The pattern of flower garlands around the edge of the cover is also very sweet, as are the fairies resting on the pillow cases.  The reverse of the duvet cover has countless fairies dancing across the fabric.  This isn't a practical, pattern/shade/design matches the room kind of bedding set honeys, I bought it simply because it made me smile πŸ˜„

I actually put it back twice.  Far too much money is spent at this time of year, or at least far more than we would normally in our small budget, for me to go around treating myself to fairy bedding but I just couldn't bare to leave without it!

Also it was in the sale, it was almost half price and there were only two left!  So, back into my cart it went and thinking on it, given that I'm working over the holidays, maybe I deserve a wee treat. Hubby said so last night when I was fussing over having bought it and showed it to him, bless him x

Well honeys I have to dash I'm afraid.  I have to go get organized for my shift tonight.  Please be careful if you have to go outside, wrap up warm and cozy if you do have to venture outside but if you can it's far better to stay home and snuggle with your furbabies.  I so wish I could!

Till next time dear ones, stay warm and safe, smile lots and hug even more, huggles always xx

Hugs Always Rosie xx
