Blogtember Day 26: What's On Your To Read List? What have you read recently?

Hi Honeys
Back again for day 26 of the blogtember challenge linking up with the lovely Bailey Jean of Brave Love Blog. Today's challenge is all about my favourite objects... books!
Blogtember Day 26 Recent Reads & Soon To Be read
Todays prompt is: what's on your to read list? What have you read lately?  Such joy!  When I looked to see what today's prompt was I grinned and I'm still grinning :) I simply adore books and I could bore for Britain on them, but I'll try not to :)

First up then, my most recent reads.  As I said very recently on this blog, I've been on a bit of a medieval history thing for a while now and found myself re-reading an excellent book by Ian Mortimer called The Time Traveller's Guide To Medieval England.  I've read this book a few times now over the past couple of years and thoroughly enjoyed it each time.  It looks at medieval England through the eyes of a modern day traveller somehow able to travel back through time and experience  how people lived, worked, married and died with all of the inherent rituals therein.  It gives advice on what to wear, what to eat where to stay.... Just like a modern day travel guide.
Medieval History Books
This book is a companion to the wonderful three part BBC series of the same name and is a fascinating read. I thoroughly recommend it honeys.

Another recently read gem of a book is A Brief History Of Life In The Middle Ages by Martyn Whittock.  This too takes a close look at life in medieval England although not through the eyes of a time traveller, instead through the eyes and conversations of the periods contemporary citizens.  The author recreates medieval society for us through a series of glimpses into individuals lives. Their struggles and joys.  It's again an excellent read and I would absolutely recommend it.

Next on my to read list is a book called Still 25 Inside: 8 Steps To Feeling Happy, Healthy And Fulfilled - Whatever Your Age by Lindey Agness.  Wow! That is some title huh honeys?  It does sound interesting though and I'm looking forward to reading it.  The author uses NLP or Neuro-Linguistic Programming in order to help readers "reach their full potential."

I'm not a huge fan of self help books but the reviews for this one were amazingly positive and since I'm feeling decidedly un-centred right now, I thought why not?   I do have so many things I want to do but I have to admit my "get up and go" seems to have got up and gone.  I've been feeling very deflated of late.  I know that partly this is health related, I was told at my last hospital appointment that my iron count is in the basement again, but there has to be more to it than that.  I need my mojo back!  I'll keep you posted on how the book is and will report back once I've read it honeys.

Has anyone tried using an NLP book? There are exercises to work through which I'm curious about.  As I say, I'll report back once I've read it.  Who knows I might be a whole new me, or at the very least a little more motivated.  Till next time then honeys, keep smiling and hug lots xx

    1. Hi Pam :) I haven't done the Medieval England books justice, they really are great. I'm such a history fan, I often think I'm living in the wrong time period. Not that I would have survived minutes in the medieval era but it does fascinate me :)

What an amazing idea! Although to be honest just writing this blog is taking up most of my waking hours :) Our furbaby is such a treasure to us. She really is the centre of our home. We were blessed to be able to adopt her from a local rescue when she was around 7 months old. Her previous owner had been abusive and even now she's such a nervous wee angel. Pam, I know this is an awful thing to say and I don't wish ill on anyone but I do believe there should be a very dark place in hell reserved for anyone who abuses animals. They give us their whole heart and all they want in return is a kind word and maybe a cuddle. Workmates joke that Jade is spoiled and I always correct them and say that she's not spoiled, she's just loved a whole lot :) Thank you so much for visiting Pam, I hope you're having a fabulous weekend so far. I'm working till late tonight but I'll try to catch up on everyone's posts tomorrow, till then, sending heaps of hugs xx

ps: apparently, or so I've been told, I hug far too much :) Is that even possible? I happen to think not :) The world would be far nicer if people just hugged more :) so I'm sending extra hugs xx
